I can’t even keep count of how many times I reach for my lip balm to apply it daily. Is it because I need it? Not necessarily anymore, but it’s an ingrained habit that I formed several years ago.
I consider myself to be a self-proclaimed lip balm addict! I’m owning it! I have one in my purse, my pocket, in the car, on my side table and my nightstand - annnd I am sure I am missing other spots where I have them stashed. The point is I CANNOT go anywhere without one. But I began to notice that it didn’t matter how many I had, or how many times I applied it in a day, my lips were cracking and bleeding. I thought that maybe it was the brand I was using so I tried Chapstick, Nivea, Carmex, Vaseline and many others and much to my disappoint my results didn’t change. So just like with the lotion, I began looking carefully at the ingredients. I read things like petrolatum, parabens and mineral oils….sounds okay enough and minerals are good for you, right? I was beyond wrong with this assumption. These 3 ingredients have been known to be addictive and have carcinogenic agents. Great, so not only am I licking poisons off my lips, I’m addicted to licking poisons off lips. Something had to change. Lip balm was one of Sincerely Different’s first products for the exact reasons listed above. I wanted something that worked, wasn’t addictive and didn’t cause cancer! Not only does our lip balm not cause cancer, but it helps prevent cancer with the added benefit of vitamin D. We have 9 different flavors all hand-crafted with beeswax, shea butter, coconut oil, apricot oil and vitamins E and D. Try it out and feel the difference for yourself!
